  • Our Anesthesiologist Scheduling work received UTSA Honorable Mention Research Award on April 30th, 2025.
    This work was one of the two papers nominated by the Dean of UTSA Carlos Alvarez College of Business.
  • Anjali Jha, our master’s student, wins Student Poster Award at COEIT Research Day 2025. Congratulations to Anjali!
  • Anjali Jha, our master’s student, presented her project at COEIT Research Day 2025 on April 11th, 2025.
    Titled, “Data-Driven Clinician Scheduling Under Resource Uncertainty in an Outpatient Clinic: A Predict-Then-Optimize Approach,” which explores how machine learning, LLMs, and robust optimization can be ensemble-modeled to address real-world needs in healthcare resource planning, i.e., considering resource uncertainty and incorporating providers’ clinical and lifestyle preferences into the work schedules to promote job satisfaction and well-being.
  • I will be presenting our work on achieving workload equity in physicians’ schedules at the 2024 INFORMS Annual Meeting, held October 20-23 in Seattle, WA. The presentation will take place during the “Decision-Making in Healthcare Systems” session, co-listed with the INFORMS Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Committee.
  • I started as a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor in the Department of Information Systems, within the College of Engineering and Information Technology at UMBC, in Fall 2024.
